NOTICE TO PATIENTS

With the growing need and demand for availability of testing Corona virus (COVID-19), WellLab is pleased to release a PCR based assessment to assess your patients status.

COVID-19 PCR Test:

The preferred specimen for early detection of infection is a nasopharyngeal swab performed by PCR testing which is currently the accepted method by the state Departments of Health.

Who should be tested?

Whilst a testing criteria has been put in place by public hospitals, WellLab will currently be accepting all patients with referrals for this test.

Generally symptoms of COVID-19 can range from mild illness to pneumonia. Some people will recover easily and some may experience symptoms worse than others.However, you should be tested if:

You have returned from overseas in the past 14 days.

You have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

You have traveled on a cruise ship in the 14 days before developing symptoms.

You have flu-like symptoms or a impaired immunity system.

Common Symptoms have been identified as:

Fever

Flu like symptoms such as coughing, a sore throat and fatigue

Shortness of breath
